Eames : The Coloring Toy
The Coloring Toy is an open-ended creative set designed to spark imagination and invite children, and the young at heart, into a world of color, shapes, and play.
Originally designed by the Eames Office in 1955 and now reintroduced for a new generation, The Coloring Toy encourages exploration rather than instruction. Instead of prescribing how to draw or play, it offers materials and gentle prompts that allow creativity to unfold naturally. The experience is closer to a choose-your-own-adventure than a traditional coloring book, with endless possibilities shaped by the maker.
Each box includes die-cut panels with playful outlines that can be colored, punched out, and connected to create characters, scenes, and imagined worlds. The panels can also be saved and traced to make new shapes, extending the fun well beyond the first use. The result is a hands-on, tactile activity that rewards curiosity and experimentation.
A timeless blend of play and design thinking, The Coloring Toy reflects the Eames belief that creativity grows best when curiosity leads the way.
