Eames : Small House of Cards
Small House of Cards is the original Eames building toy, inviting imagination, play, and design thinking through a set of beautifully graphic, interlocking cards.
Designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the early 1950s, House of Cards has become a universal favorite and is represented in the Museum of Modern Art collection. Each card features a carefully chosen image that the Eameses referred to as “the good stuff,” a visual celebration of familiar and nostalgic objects drawn from the animal, vegetable, and mineral worlds.
Six precision-cut slots on every card allow them to interlock easily, making it possible to build structures in countless shapes and configurations. At once a toy and a design object, the Small House of Cards reflects the Eames belief that play is a foundation for serious ideas.
