Trevor Wayne, a pop artist and resident of Palm Springs, is the poster artist for the 2023 Greater Palm Springs Pride Festival and Parade. The commemorative Pride celebration t-shirt showcases Wayne’s iconic artwork.

In explaining the artwork, Wayne said that he focused on the fact Palm Springs is a safe place for the LGBTQ+ community. “I wanted to create something that welcomes them,” said Wayne, “so I thought of a roadside scene to represent searching for acceptance. To signify drag without excluding certain types, I put a hand coming out of a high heel with lipstick. I went for a positive representation — Lady Liberty as the hand — showing that everyone deserves hope and freedom.
Palm Springs Pride President and CEO Ron deHarte said the poster perfectly represents this year’s theme — “Drag Now. Drag Forever.”
